Traditional Festivals in Hong Kong Worth Experiencing

The thing I’ve found from traveling is that a place becomes clearer to you when you join its festivities. In Hong Kong such festivals are not simply dates on a calendar—they show the city’s identity, culture and sense of community.

I was in Hong Kong a few years back for the Mid-Autumn Festival. I knew about lanterns and mooncakes, but I wasn’t prepared for the feeling of seeing families under paper lanterns, kids with sparklers and the moon above everything. It seemed genuine, touching and lovely.
