The world’s largest volcanic lake

The world's largest volcanic lake, Toba is one of the best places to go to chill out for a few days or longer. The lake features Samosir, an island roughly the size of Singapore, in its middle. Toba is blessed with gorgeous scenery, friendly locals, and a pleasantly warm freshwater swimming, with a fascinating background of an ancient culture. The primary tourist area on Samosir is a knob jutting from the island known as Tuk-tuk, an area which can be explored in around an hour on foot. Aside from walking around, driving around the island is most enjoyable to be able to see everyday village life, with its serene backdrop of old churches and volcanic scenery.
